Hansen's Extremism

Recorded on January 18, 2011

It's time for common sense; I'm Ernest Istook.

Even as the public skepticism grows about global warming, our government pays people to tell us that we're killing the planet.

Now one says the world should boycott the USA, and we should make our government more like China's.

NASA scientist James Hansen says we're “barbarians" because the climate change crowd is losing ground in Washington. Hansen thinks the problem is democracy. Says he, “Unlike us, the Chinese are enlightened, unfettered by pesky elections.”

No, Communist countries don't have free elections, and they don't have strong personal freedoms either. But writing in a Chinese newspaper, Hansen proposed that the world place tariffs to block anything made in America, until we enact a carbon tax and the other job-killing measures that the global warming extremists want.

Wow. Compared to Hansen, even Al Gore looks moderate.
