Feds and Gasoline Prices

It's time for common sense; I'm Ernest Istook.
Gasoline prices keep going up, and our government is a big reason why.
President Obama's Secretary of Energy previously told the press that he wants our gasoline prices to become as high as in Europe, which would be double what they are now.
The Administration has canceled a bunch of leases to drill on federal lands, and keeps shutting down offshore drilling. Current Gulf production is already down 13%, and leases to drill are down 88%, because the Obama Administration is virtually refusing to grant any permits.
That leaves us at the mercy of overseas oil producers that are not our friends, in the Mideast, Russia and Venezuela, for example.
Raising your taxes isn't the only way that Washington can hurt your family budget; making your pay more for gasoline is another—and it's sneakier as well.
