AARP and Obamacare

News reports said hundreds of thousands of senior citizens quit the AARP when it endorsed Obamacare. Why did that group back a law that is killing Medicare Advantage medical plans? The reasons are becoming clear. The Obama administration is now giving special exemptions to AARP endorsed Medigap policies that previously had to compete with Medicare Advantage. Selling insurance is a major cash cow for AARP- so when Obamacare wipes out their competition, plus gives AARP special treatment, it’s worth megamillions to that group. But that doesn’t seem to help the seniors they represent. SO that has sparked the creation of other groups to represent senior citizens competing with the AARP and promising they won’t sell-out seniors..
Now we have competition to be the true voice of seniors- and isn’t competition part of the American way?
