On November 14, 1965 a battle erupted in the la Drang Valley between U.S. and North Vietnamese forces. The battle resulted in more than 300 American deaths and marked the first major engagement of the Vietnam War.
Directed with by Randall Wallace and based upon the best-selling book by Lt. Gen. Harold G. Moore (Ret.) and Joseph L. Galloway, “We Were Soldiers” depicts the heroism and sacrifice of U.S. forces throughout the engagement.
Join us as The Heritage Foundation remembers the lives lost and sacrifices made as we near the 50th anniversary of the Battle of la Drang.
