Please join us as Dr. Edwin J. Feulner, President of The Heritage Foundation, hosts Kuomintang Vice Chairman John H. Chiang for a timely discussion on “Cross-Strait Relations after Taiwan's 2012 Election.” Mr. Chiang, the grandson of President Chiang Kai-shek, has served in a number of government positions as a civil servant and a legislator, rising to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Premier of the Executive Yuan, and Secretary General of the Kuomintang. He also completed a stint as a Senior Fellow at The Heritage Foundation and graduated with an M.S. from Georgetown University.
After President Ma Ying-jeou’s re-election on January 14, 2012, most observers are expecting the second Ma Administration to continue Taiwan’s opening to China. In this context and amidst continued political differences over Taiwan’s future, Mr. Chiang’s insight on China-Taiwan relations will prove invaluable, as he shares his thoughts on cross-straits issues going forward.
