Cathy Taylor

Cathy Taylor is Editor of Human Events, the oldest conservative weekly in the nation, and HumanEvents.com, the popular conservative website that features Human Events staff writers John Gizzi, Tony Lee and others, as well as noted conservative columnists such as Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams.

She also oversees the successful conservative website RedState.com, as well as several newsletters including Guns & Patriots and Family Events. All the publications are part of the Human Events Group at Eagle Publishing, based in Washington DC.

Taylor joined Human Events in December 2011 from The Orange County Register in California where she was Opinion Editor and a member of the Senior Leadership Team and the Executive Team. Taylor worked for The Register for more than 25 years in various positions and led a number of cross-functional initiatives involving operations and transformation. She held a number of news positions over the years at The Register, including Business Writer, Business Editor, Business Columnist, before becoming Opinion Editor in November 1996. The Opinion pages are known for their consistent libertarian/conservative voice and a popular opinion website that draws visitors from throughout California and beyond.

She was graduated from the University of Southern California with Political Science Honors, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. She was editor of the student newspaper, The Daily Trojan. She later attended the MBA and Executive MBA programs at the Peter F. Drucker Center [now the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management] at Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California. Taylor has received a number of awards, including the national Gerald F. Loeb award for business writing and The Register’s highest company honor, the R.C. Hoiles award.

She loves history, traveling, and sometimes briefly “taking the airplane” while her boyfriend pilots his 1943 Fairchild Primary Trainer.
