Senator Toomey serves on the Budget; Banking; Commerce; and Joint Economic committees, and he was one of 12 members of the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction. He is also the ranking member on the Commerce Committee's Consumer Protection, Product Safety and Insurance Subcommittee. He previously served three terms in Congress as a member of the House of Representatives from Pennsylvania's Fifteenth Congressional District. In addition to his public service, the Senator served as President of the Club for Growth, owned and operated a small restaurant chain in the Lehigh Valley, and worked in the financial services industry. He is a graduate of Harvard University.
