The 2011 Deficit Reduction Act requires the House and the Senate to schedule a vote on a Balanced Budget Amendment before the end of the year. As of November 1, 18 different BBAs were under discussion. All had varying degrees of limitation. Of primary importance, however, is finding a Balanced Budget Amendment that clearly achieves the goal of limiting the size and scope of the federal government.
