Senator Pat Toomey has quickly emerged as an outspoken leader on all fiscal issues, and has concentrated his efforts during the beginning of this Congress on the upcoming votes on the continuing resolution and the debate over whether to raise the debt ceiling. He has been adamant that simply voting to raise the debt ceiling without regaining control of federal spending is both irresponsible and unacceptable. The Senator will discuss his new legislation, the “Full Faith and Credit Act”, which would require the Treasury to make interest payments on our debt its first priority in the event that the debt ceiling is not raised.
