Changing Washington Starts with Changing How Congress Does Business

This video is temporarily unavailable.

Senator Thune will discuss his recently introduced budget reform bill, the Deficit Reduction and Budget Reform Act of 2010. The legislation’s three-pronged approach would impose strict new limits on federal spending, reform the budget process, and create a new standing committee of Congress for budget deficit reduction that would be tasked with reducing the deficit through spending cuts, not raising taxes. Congress currently has 26 committees and subcommittees dedicated to spending money. Senator Thune believes there should be one tasked with cutting spending.
