As the Obama Administration turns its attention to new challenges, an environmental and economic crisis remains in the Gulf. The Obama Administration continues to offer no visible signs that they are taking the oil spill seriously, but the people in the Gulf need action. The Heritage Foundation recently sent a team of energy, environment, homeland security and response experts to the Gulf to meet officials in St. Bernard’s, Plaquemines and Lafourche Parishes and to tour Port Fourchon, Grand Isle and other affected areas. The message was clear: the federal government is doing more to hurt the Gulf’s economy and environment than help it. Now officials from the Gulf are bringing their message to Washington. Join us as John Young, Jefferson Parish Council Chairman, and Heritage experts who ventured to the Gulf discuss how the Administration can respond more adequately to the spill.
