In her talk, Lala will share the struggles and suffering her own family faced under Castro and discuss how to ensure freedom for the people of Cuba in the future. In addition to her work in Cuba, she has appeared on BBC and Univision, and her stories have been covered in several publications including the Frederick News Post and several other Hispanic publications. Lala married the late Vincent J. Mooney in 1968 and has four children including Maryland State Senator, Alex Mooney.
