The tax code is a serious drag on the economy and is almost impossible for taxpayers to comply with. Fundamental reform of the tax code is long overdue to repair the beleaguered tax code. Senators Ron Wyden (D-OR) and Judd Gregg (R-NH) recently released a plan for fundamentally reforming the tax code. Their plan, “The Bipartisan Tax Fairness and Simplification Act of 2010,” is a serious effort to fix a tax code badly in need of repair. It is an example of how Congress can work in a bipartisan manner to improve the tax code through simplification and minimizing the damage it inflicts on the economy.
