Location: The Heritage Foundation's Lehrman
Auditorium
Stuart Bowen, Special Inspector General for
Iraq Reconstruction, will address the tactical and strategic
lessons learned from Iraq and discuss his recently published book,
Hard Lessons: The Iraq Reconstruction Experience,
considered, by many, to be the definitive work on contingency
relief and reconstruction operations in Iraq. Hard
Lessons provides a comprehensive account of what went wrong
with Iraqi reconstruction efforts and offers insights that
policymakers may find particularly useful in efforts to reform the
U.S. approach to contingency relief and reconstruction
operations.
