The violence at the southern border due to drug smuggling is not a
new development. But the increasing violence by these drug
cartels has exploded and spilled over into border counties in the
United States. Responding to calls to deal with the drug
cartels, President Obama recently stated that he would consider
sending the National Guard down to the southern border. Join
