Human Rights in China and Vietnam

Location: The Heritage Foundation's Lehrman Auditorium

Hu Jia, a Chinese human rights activist, has just received the Sakharov Prize, awarded by the European Parliament.  But Hu is a political prisoner in China.  A few months ago, eight Vietnamese received the Hellman/Hammett Award for their work in human rights.  They are in prison in Vietnam.  Our panelists will reflect on the actual human rights situation in these two countries.
