Location: The Heritage Foundation's Lehrman Auditorium
Africa's potential has never been greater. Yet, economic growth
and development remain problematic, and poverty continues to
dominate too much of the landscape. Efforts are being initiated to
enhance economic freedom and wealth creation. And, while there may
be pitfalls to avoid, opportunities for a brighter, freer future
are at hand.
James Shikwati, a leading voice in the ongoing African policy
debates, is founder of the Inter Region Economic Network, a
non-profit independent public policy research and educational
organization in Nairobi, Kenya. As a writer and commentator on
public policy, he has promoted extensively ideas to improve
productivity, increase trade freedom, and alleviate poverty in both
his native country and across the continent. Join us as he reflects
on the present challenges and examines future opportunities for
advancing freedom, hope and prosperity in Africa.
