Review (QDR). As Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland
Defense, Paul McHale is responsible for the supervision of all
homeland defense activities of the Department of Defense. From
defending America's borders from foreign threats to responding to
catastrophic disasters, the Home Front presents a multi-faceted
challenge. McHale oversees the policy and management of the
National Guard as well as U.S. Northern Command.
