Improving Savings Options for All Americans

Location: The Heritage Foundation's Lehrman Auditorium

While partisan debates about Social Security have dominated the headlines in the last year, liberals and conservatives have been working together to help Americans to save more for retirement. This consensus includes practical ways to make it easier for anyone of any income level to build savings ranging from making it easier to participate in 401(k)-type retirement plans to using stock index funds as a simple way to invest without the need for an MBA.

Saving and investing are not just for the rich and middle class. Lower income workers can improve their lives by participating in programs that help them to build savings and to learn financial skills. Please join our panelists for a discussion of the need to increase savings and investment for all families and the tools they need to make this possible.
