Military Industrial Base Project: Report Release

Location: The Heritage Foundation's Lehrman Auditorium

One of the most important issues in national security is the state of America's military industrial base. Today, the tension between exploiting the advantages of the marketplace to obtain the best equipment at the best price and Congress's desire to accommodate other priorities has never been greater, and is exacerbated by the global character of the 21st Century industrial base and a plethora of risks, opportunities, and unknowns. Over the course of the past year, The Heritage Foundation has undertaken a major study on pressing military industrial base issues. This study is now complete, and provides a set of guiding principles - a doctrine of goals and values against which any proposed laws can be measured; illustrates the results that can be achieved when they are applied - particularly during periods of national crisis; and provides a list of recommendations for Congress. Join us for the official release of The Military Industrial Base in an Age of Globalization.

This Lecture Series is made possible by a grant from the Tawani Foundation and its founder Colonel (IL) James N. Pritzker ILARNG (Ret.), who are dedicated to promoting awareness and understanding of the role of the Citizen Soldier in America's military heritage.
