Lessons from London: Implications for United States and European Homeland Security

Location: The Heritage Foundation's Lehrman Auditorium

The bombings in the heart of the London - the "ring of steel" - have created a sense of vulnerability for both Europeans and Americans. The attack of a mass transit system, one of the many "soft-targets" a terrorist may strike with ease, has caused questions to arise. Should there be mass spending to harden these "soft-targets"? Should the PATRIOT Act be reauthorized? Join us as our panelists assess the legal, security, and foreign policy lessons for the United States and Europe following the London bombings of 7/7 and 7/21.
