WebMemo)
Location: The Heritage Foundation's Lehrman Auditorium
There has been considerable debate over nuclear weapons research
programs - Modern Pit facility, Robust Nuclear Earth Penetrator,
and Enhanced Test Readiness - in the wake of the decision by
Congress to cut funding for these programs. Although it is unclear
whether or not funding will be restored, it is clear that some
members of Congress are unwilling or unable to understand the
evolving role of nuclear weapons in modern national security.
Please join us as our expert panel discusses, not only the role of
nuclear weapons in the 21st Century, but also the requirements for
U.S. nuclear forces, including delivery systems, warhead designs,
and technology.
