The principal concern for much of Asia - and Congress - in 2005
will be dealing with the aftermath of the tsunami that struck the
countries along the Indian Ocean at the end of 2004. Other issues
that Congress must address will be a resurgent China and a
militarily resurgent Japan. The rise of India as an economic power;
the security relationship with a democratic Indonesia, an absolute
monarchy in Nepal and nukes in North Korea are all issues that
concern Congress. Join us as a bipartisan panel of professional
foreign affairs/international relations' staff from the House and
the Senate describes the view of Asia from Capitol Hill.

Release of Indonesian Terrorism Poll
Ken Ballen
President,
Terror Free Tomorrow
According to a recent public opinion poll by Terror Free Tomorrow,
the perception of the United States in Indonesia has significantly
improved as a result of the humanitarian relief efforts after the
tsunami and the successful elections in Iraq and Afghanistan. The
poll in Indonesia showed a dramatic drop in support for terrorism
and a sharp increase in the favorable ratings of the U.S. Our
program will begin with a discussion of these poll results.
