Notes from Pyongyang: The Congressional Trip to North Korea

The Heritage Foundation's Lehrman Auditorium

On May 28, six members of the U.S. Congress traveled to North Korea amidst heightened tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Led by Curt Weldon (R-PA), the bipartisan Congressional group included Eliot Engle (D-NY), Jeff Miller (R-FL), Solomon Ortiz (D-TX), Sylvester Ryes (D-TX), and Joe Wilson (R-SC). As the Bush Administration continues to work towards a peaceful resolution of the nuclear issue, this trip served as a fact-finding mission to help Congress better understand the issues facing North Korea. Join us for a fascinating and rare portrait of North Korea from Congressmen Joe Wilson (R-SC) and Jeff Miller (R-FL), as they review their experiences with us.
