America's armed forces performed brilliantly in operation Iraqi
Freedom. This success, however, must not allow complacency to
overtake the Pentagon's modernization program. Instead, the war in
Iraq demonstrates the need to continue efforts to transform
America's industrial age military, built to defeat the Soviet
Union, into a digital age force that is prepared to address the
many unpredictable threats that will emerge in the 21st century. To
this end, the Office of Force Transformation has recently released
its Transformation Planning Guidance. Please join us for a lecture
by Admiral Arthur Cebrowski, Director of the Office of Force
Transformation to discuss this very important issue.
