After September 11, Pakistan has been front and center in U.S.
foreign policy. It was key to U.S. military operations in
Afghanistan and has been a frontline state in the war on terrorism.
Working closely with American intelligence and law enforcement,
Pakistani authorities continue to arrest terrorist operatives on a
regular basis, recently apprehending Waleed Mohammed bin Attash,
who played a lead role in planning the attack on the USS Cole.
Pakistan also recently announced that it would resume full
diplomatic ties with India and hold talks to resolve their
longstanding disputes. To discuss these and other pressing issues,
please join us to hear Pakistan's Foreign Minister, Khurshid M.
Kasuri.
