The Role of the U.S.-Japan Alliance in East Asia's Strategic Environment

2003 will be a tumultuous year for the Asia-Pacific region in light of: changes in government in China and South Korea; the nuclear tensions in North Korea; the War in Iraq; and the ongoing Global War on Terrorism. This meeting of the Japan-U.S. Security Strategy Conference will address these topics, and specifically the role of the U.S.-Japan Alliance within this dynamic environment.
