Do "pro-life" state policies, such as informed consent and parental notification, reduce the incidence of abortion? Though the number of abortions fell as states enacted pro-life laws in the 1990s, many dispute the effect of these policies, crediting the economy or changing values instead.

“The Administration should continue its full cooperation with Congress so that Americans are assured that their government is doing everything possible to protect them from terrorists and safeguard their liberties,” they continue.

His conclusion is clear: "State pro-life legislation has been effective in reducing the number of abortions." In other words, the evidence is strong that policy matters.

A reporter last month asked Lt. Gen. Dan Halutz, the Israel Defense Force's chief of staff, how far Israel is willing to go to stop Iran's nuclear (weapons) program; the general answered: "2,000 kilometers" — the flying distance from Israel to Iran's key nuclear sites.
