Nicolas Loris is a Research Assistant at The Heritage Foundation's Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies.

At Heritage, Loris studies energy, environment and regulation issues such as the economic impacts of climate change legislation, a free market approach to nuclear energy and the effects of environmental policy on energy prices and the economy.

His commentaries have appeared in The Washington Times, the Baltimore Sun, the Kansas City Star and Human Events, among others.  He's also been quoted as an expert in several media outlets including Investor's Business Daily. In addition, he has appeared numerous times on the radio, including Fox News radio network.

Before joining Heritage in June 2007, Loris worked as an associate at the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation where he was immersed in a yearlong market-based management program. Before Koch, he served as an editorial intern at Townhall.com and held a research internship at Albright College in Reading, Pa.

Loris is currently working on a master's degree in economics from George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. In 2006, he earned a bachelor's degree in economics, finance and political science at Albright. He lives in Arlington, Va.
