Jackie Anderson works with radio and television reporters and producers to maximize media exposure for The Heritage Foundation’s issue and policy experts, raising awareness of the leading think tank’s research among broadcast and digital news outlets.
As media associate, Anderson also assists in operating and providing technical support for Heritage’s broadcast facilities -- the Robert H. Bruce Radio Studio and the Elmore Family Television Studio. She is the host of the weekly podcast, Heritage in Focus (http://www.heritage.org/multimedia/audio).
Immediately before joining Heritage in 2012, Anderson served as communications director for Students for Life of America (SFLA). She oversaw press and broadcast operations and served as liaison between SFLA and its Congressional Advisory Board.
Anderson appeared on major news programs, including those of ABC, CBS and Fox News Channel, during their coverage of related national events. She was responsible for media and marketing efforts for SFLA’s national conference. She also produced the weekly National Pro-Life Youth Podcast.
Anderson previously was part of media operations in the office of Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-Mo.), where she worked with national networks and contributed to the congressman’s online column, “News for the Ninth.”
A native of Falls Church, Va., Anderson holds bachelor of arts degrees in journalism and political science from Penn State University. She currently resides in Alexandria, Va.
