Nick Reid leads The Heritage Foundation's donor relations team of seven regional managers and oversees the growing number of Heritage-affiliated community committees across the nation.

As Director of Donor Relations, Reid is part of the Development management team that communicates Heritage's mission, and effectiveness in promoting conservative policy solutions, to members throughout the United States.

Prior to his promotion in August 2009, Reid was donor relations manager for the Central West region for two and a half years. He quickly became one of Heritage's most successful fundraisers.

Since joining the policy research institute in 2001, Reid has worked in three different departments -- External Relations, Government Relations and Development. Early assignments included coordinating outreach to state legislators and governors. He later was deputy director of Senate Relations, acting as liaison to members and staff of the U.S. Senate.

Reid previously served as press secretary to Rep. Jim Ryun (R-Kansas). In 2006, he was the Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Wisconsin's 7th District.

He holds a bachelor's degree in political science and pre-law from Indiana Wesleyan University. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have four children.
