summary: Ki Ho Lee is a Distinguished Research Fellow at The Heritage Foundation's Asian Studies Center. Born and raised in South Korea, Lee has worked in the Korean government for more than 30 years, starting soon after his graduation from Seoul National University. Before joining Heritage in 2005, he spent a year at Oxford University as a Distinguished Scholar. Before that, he served the Korea President as Senior Adviser on Economy, Labor and Social Welfare. He also was Senior Secretary for Economic Affairs for four years. He also held many other government positions including Labor Minister, Vice Minister of Health and Social Welfare, and Chief of National Policy Coordination. As a presidential aide, he attended more than 40 bilateral or international summit meetings held in 20 foreign countries, including the historical South-North Korean Summit Meeting. In addition, as a presidential personal envoy, he met with Presidents and Prime Ministers of Latin America and Asia. In addition to his degree from Seoul National University, Lee earned an MBA from the Arthur D. Little Institute, an economic and business research institute located in Cambridge, Mass. He also earned two doctorates: one in economics from Kyung Hee University and another in health administration from Yunsei University. He lives in Falls Church, Va., with his wife and two children. |
