Overcriminalization

"Overcriminalization" describes the trends in America - and particulary in Congress - to use the criminal law to "solve" every problem, punish every mistake (instead of making proper use of civil penalties), and coerce Americans into conforming their behavior to satisfy social engineering objectives.

S 3579: Voter Integrity Protection Act

Official Title

A bill to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to make voting in a federal election by an unlawfully present alien an aggravated felony and for other purposes.

Analysis

This bill would force government officials to deport any unlawfully present aliens who vote in federal elections. Currently the penalty is up to one year in prison.
