Tecumseh Products Co. is a family-owned business in Tecumseh, Mich., that makes compressors, small engines, power-train products for lawn mowers and garden equipment, and industrial pumps.
Herrick joined the Heritage board in September 2007, but he is no newcomer to the non-profit world. For years he has served as chairman of the Herrick Foundation, one of the largest charitable foundations in Michigan. Herrick also serves on the boards of: Howe Military School, University of Notre Dame School of Business and the University of Michigan School of Engineering. In addition, he is chairman of the board at Thermogy, a for-profit company that develops alternative power.
Herrick has a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame in 1967. From 1968-1973, he served as an Army helicopter pilot, retiring with the rank of captain. He and his wife, Linda, live near Harbor Springs, Mich., and have three grown children.
