This calculator shows the tax savings to a family as a result of the 2003 tax cut. The 2003 tax cut increased the standard deduction for married couples, increased the value of the child tax credit and reduced marginal rates. Some numbers that are used, such as the 2003 standard deduction for joint filers, are estimates of what the standard deduction would have been had the 2003 tax cut bill had not passed or was repealed.
