How High Will Gas Prices Go?
A state by state analysis

Based on a review of H.R 6, comprehensive energy legislation that is currently working its way through the U.S. Congress, including the just completed section on tax changes, the price of regular unleaded gasoline could rise from an early December national average of $3.06 per gallon to $5.02 in 2016. Analysts in the Center for Data Analysis developed this estimate and comparable ones at the state level from assumed effects of four major provisions in the legislation: mandates for increasing the biofuels content of gasoline, fuel economy standards, price controls aimed at stopping "high" gas prices, and new taxes imposed on energy companies. These estimates are explained in more detail in "Paying More at the Pump: Energy Bill Would Increase Gas Prices".
