On behalf of The Heritage Foundation, former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese, III, issued the following statement upon the death of Mike Deaver.

WASHINGTON, AUG. 18, 2007— Mike Deaver made a great contribution to our country by his devoted service to Ronald Reagan, both in California and in Washington, D.C. He had a great talent in public relations and a great dedication to public service. He was a good friend, and we will miss him.
