Introducing a Health Care Reform Web Site that Understands "Stat"

Just like the doctors on “E.R.,” journalists, policy-makers and advocacy groups following the health-care debates in Congress need things “stat.”

In other words, “immediately.” They don’t have time to wait around for the latest reports and analysis. They want information today. Right now. Pronto.

And they can get it online from The Heritage Foundation’s Center for Health Policy Studies. The center’s Web site offers timely, plain-English analyses of the latest health care reform news and policy recommendations as well as commentary.

Located at heritage.org/Research/HealthCare/healthpolicy.cfm, the site presents information in four key policy arenas. They are:

- Medicare

- Medicaid

- The Uninsured

- State Health Initiatives

In addition to daily updates, analysis and commentaries, the Web site also offers documents, research and testimony from other experts at organizations such as the American Legislative Exchange Council, the Congressional Budget Office and the Senate Joint Economic Committee.

For easier viewing, each paper has a brief summary so you can quickly decide which research papers you want to read. You can contact our experts in a hurry as well, either by e-mailing them or calling them at the phone numbers listed on the site.

The Heritage Foundation, founded in 1973, created the Center for Health Policy Studies earlier this year for one reason: To study health care problems such as affordability, insurance and quality of care and propose market-based solutions to fix them.

The center is doing that by providing the health-care data and analysis on the Web, over the phone or in person. Stat.
