Jose de Venecia, Jr. – so recent and so long Speaker, that it’s still difficult not to call him Mr. Speaker.  JDV has been a major player on The Philippines political scene for four decades.  Seemingly everywhere at once during his two stints as Speaker, once in the 1990s and again from 2001-2008, he was the man to go to for getting things done.

Join us as The Speaker reviews
his career, his causes, and his vision for The Philippines.

Copies of Brett M. Decker’s book, Global Filipino: The Authorized Biography of Jose de Venecia, Jr., will be available for purchase in conjunction with The Speaker’s presentation.  Mr. Decker, an award-winning journalist based in Washington, D.C., was previously stationed in Hong Kong as an editor and editorial page writer for The Wall Street Journal.
