James Shikwati, a leading voice in the ongoing African policy debates, is founder of the Inter Region Economic Network, a non-profit independent public policy research and educational organization in Nairobi, Kenya. As a writer and commentator on public policy, he has promoted extensively ideas to improve productivity, increase trade freedom, and alleviate poverty in both his native country and across the continent.
