While the world has become too busy holding its breath over Iran’s threat of developing and hiding nuclear weapons, Iran has been stealthily spreading its terrorist influence to other Middle Eastern countries. In 1982, Iran created Hezbollah – the Party of God – to export its revolution, mobilize Lebanese Shiites, and develop terrorist attacks on Israel and its supporter, the United States. Since then, Iran has been providing the bulk of Hezbollah’s foreign support – mainly arms, training, and financing – while Syria provided the rest. Syria houses this militant wing of Palestinian Hamas and allows Iran to use Syrian airfields to transport weapons, ammunition and equipment to its Lebanon-based allies. Before blaming Israel for the current round of violence, international leaders must pressure, condemn and sanction those terrorist states against whose endeavors they have failed to act. Join us as our panelists discuss the current Middle East crisis and the actors behind Hezbollah.
