Location: The Heritage Foundation's Allison Auditorium It is a grave moral failing of our age that the full extent of communism’s inhumanity to man is not known. Who knows that more than 100 million people have died under communism since the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917? Who realizes that more than one fifth of the world’s population still lives – and not by their choice – under communism? This tragic oversight will be corrected, at least in part, with the dedication of the Victims of Communism Memorial on Tuesday, June 12, at its Capitol Hill site, two blocks from Union Station. As part of the day’s activities, a distinguished panel of historians, dissident leaders and former political prisoners will hold a roundtable discussion on the costs of communism and what it was like to live under a communist regime.
