A project of the Sunlight Foundation, the Open House Project is a collaborative and bipartisan effort on open government. The purpose of the project is to study how the House of Representatives currently integrates the Internet into its operations, and to make public recommendations to its leadership on how to make the House of Representatives’ work more available to citizens on the Web.

With the help of former congressional staffers, technology experts and public policy officials in Washington, the Open House Project produced a report with specific recommendations for the House of Representatives to implement. They vary from giving citizen journalists credentials to cover Congress and making video of congressional activities more publicly available to putting more information online and accessible to American citizens.
