Details:
In 2006, Congress created the Secure Freight Initiative, an initiative test screening all shipping container cargo bound for the United States at a handful of selected ports.  Last year Congress passed the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007, mandating the inspection of all U.S. bound containers from all overseas ports.  This April, the Department of Homeland Security is expected to report to Congress on the status of the Secure Freight Initiative.  Now is an ideal time to discuss the potential implications of the report on the future of container security.  Join us as our expert panelists debate how the report should be interpreted, and what must be done to move forward.
