Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt lectured at The Heritage Foundation on the situation in Iraq in November 2005. We are pleased to welcome him back to speak about fighting a “Long War.” This topic is especially relevant since the recently released Quadrennial Defense Review uses the term Long War to signal that the War on Terror will continue to be a protracted fight. General Kimmitt currently serves as the Deputy Director for Plans and Policy, United States Central Command. He will discuss the fundamentals of fighting a Long War, and will engage in discussion with the audience for an extended question and answer period.
