Location: The Heritage Foundation's Lehrman Auditorium Every four years, the Department of Defense is required by law to conduct a review of threats, strategy, force structure, resources, and budgets. The goal is to look ahead twenty years and discern what the greatest challenges to U.S. national security policy will be and determine how the U.S. will prepare. The 2006 Quadrennial Defense Review, released on February 3rd, is especially important because it is the first QDR that has had adequate time to consider the full implications of the devastating 9/11 terrorist attacks. Throughout the past year, The Heritage Foundation has dedicated considerable time and effort to assessing the greatest challenges this QDR should address. Please join us as our distinguished panel analyzes the QDR, examines its implications, and discusses its implementation.
