As Chairman of the Senate Steering Committee, Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) has crafted a Senate conservative agenda for the 2008 session.  This agenda consists of ten legislative ideas that Senator DeMint and his conservative allies in the Senate will force debate on this year.  Senator DeMint will outline this agenda at The Heritage Foundation and present the conservative case for smaller government, traditional values, and a strong national defense.  The American people deserve a Congress that addresses the most pressing needs our nation now faces, including measures to solve the country’s looming entitlement crisis, to cut individual and corporate tax rates to spur economic growth, to secure our borders, and to stop corruption at the United Nations.
