International cooperation is vital to U.S. economic and security priorities, and it is the centerpiece of American foreign and strategy, as well as national security. The Visa Waiver Program has a proven record not only of facilitating travel, but also of strengthening U.S. strategic partnerships with countries around the world. Yet many nations that have become critical friends and allies over the past several years have been excluded from this program. This unfair and unwise policy is a source of concern around the globe. Congress should expand the Visa Waiver Program to important allies as to enhance America’s national security policy.
