How Maine, Florida and Others are Embracing Market-Base Health Care Reforms
With continued uncertainty surrounding and ongoing opposition to federal health reform, state leaders are exerting their authority to advance health reforms that fit the unique needs of their citizens. Under the leadership of Governor LePage, Maine recently repealed its failed big government health care plan and replaced it with a series of market based insurance reforms. In Florida, the legislature succeeded in expanding previously established Medicaid reforms in their state. These states and others are taking the lead to prove that states can develop an alternative to government-run health care, based on consumer-choice and the free market. Please join us for special remarks by Governor LePage followed by an expert panel on discussing reform in the states.
