The Consumer Product Safety Commission is one of Washington's less-publicized alphabet- soup agencies, yet it has tremendous authority. With its regulatory authority over some 15,000 products, chances are most of the packages under your Christmas tree fall under the jurisdiction of the CPSC. Since taking the reins at CPSC last year, Chairman Hal Stratton has stressed alternatives to regulation and on incorporating accountability, transparency and risk-based decision-making into agency operations. Please join us as Chairman Stratton describes his approach to regulation at this months' Heritage Foundation Regulatory Forum.
